Our Services

We offer a range of evidence-based and research-informed services, including, training, technical assistance, research, evaluation, curriculum development, and coaching and mentoring to meet the evolving needs of global educators -- and the students, families, communities and schools they serve. 


Special emphasis is placed on supporting projects that seek to improve equitable and inclusive education for women, girls, and multilingual learners of English.

Leadership

Dr. Debra Suarez, Executive Director

Dr. Debra Suarez, PhD, MS-TESOL, MBA, PMP, serves as Executive Director of UPLIFTING TEACHERS LLC. 


As Executive Director, Dr. Debra Suarez brings a unique blend of experiences, education, skills, and professional networks to UPLIFTING TEACHERS LLC. Dr. Suarez has played  key leadership roles in the global educational community.


Dr. Suarez served as a senior leader at the US Department of Education, where she supported teachers of multilingual learners of English, immigrants and refugees, and supported the White House Task Force for New Americans. She served as senior advisor at the White House AAPI Initiative; and, as an English Language Teaching Specialist with the US Department of State,  where she provided teacher professional development around the globe, including, West Africa, Eastern Europe, Mexico, the Middle East, South and Central America, and Southeast Asia.   


She brings deep executive service, both globally and locally: Dr. Suarez is currently President of the TESOL International Association, the worlds' largest and most trusted global leader in the field of English language teaching (ELT) in multilingual contexts, with over 11,000 members, from more than 144 countries. Dr. Suarez is also past-President of Maryland TESOL.  


An experienced university professor, Dr. Suarez is presently teaching with the School of Education graduate program in International Teaching and Global Leadership, at John Hopkins University.


A lifelong learner, Dr. Suarez holds a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction, Language Education, an MS-TESOL, an MBA in education business management; she also holds a PMP and federal procurement certifications.

With executive professional relationships in multiple sectors -- education, business, government, and professional associations -- Dr. Debra Suarez attracts and retains the highest caliber educational consulting talent. 


UPLIFTING TEACHERS LLC convenes experienced educators from K-12, adult education, higher education, government training, and workforce education, with highly-qualified, seasoned professionals in project management, online learning systems, and education business management, on a project-by-project basis. 


For each project, the UPLIFTING TEACHERS LLC TEAM addresses challenges and provides customized solutions to provide equitable and impactful  educational experiences for educators who teach multilingual learners of English, women, girls, immigrants, refugees, and members of minority populations, throughout the US and the world.
